Summary
A presente pesquisa monográfica tem como objetivo refletir sobre as danças de Merce Cunningham e Pina Bausch a partir de um estudo bibliográfico inicial, tendo como foco as distinções e atravessamentos entre abstração e figuração. Percebemos que as reflexões sobre as diferenciações e os encontros que ocorrem entre o que seria entendido como uma dança abstrata e/ou uma dança figurativa ainda são bastante iniciais, porém possuem um grande valor para o entendimento das possibilidades existentes de compreensão e elaboração da própria corporeidade na construção coreográfica. Nesse sentido, através de um primeiro estudo bibliográfico, e dando atenção especial às construções de corpo e movimento, teceremos reflexões sobre os caminhos percorridos nos limiares entre a dança abstrata e a dança figurativa nos dois coreógrafos.
Abstract
The objective of this research paper is to reflect upon the Merce Cunningham and Pina Bausch dance styles through an initial bibliographic study, focusing on the distinctions and crossings between abstraction and figuration. We can notice that the reflections about the differentiations and the encounters that happen between what could be perceived as an abstract dance and/or a figurative dance still are in the initial stage, but have a great value for understanding the existing possibilities of comprehension and elaboration of one´s own corporeality in composing a choreography. In this sense, through an initial bibliographic study, and paying special attention to the constructions of the body and movement, we will write reflections about the paths traced in the thresholds between abstract dance and figurative dance in both choreographers.
