Summary:	O presente trabalho busca contribuir com a escrita da História da Educação em Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo. Procura-se discutir, por intermédio da análise da imprensa regional, particularmente do jornal Diario de Noticias, as representações construídas em torno das mulheres daquele espaço nos anos de 1930 e 1940. Por meio da leitura do Diario acreditamos ser possível reconstruir os intentos normatizadores dos impressos de então, visando, sobretudo, à educação das mulheres. Pela leitura das fontes produzidas pelos letrados do interior paulista, busca-se perceber quais eram os temas privilegiados em torno do universo feminino, bem como as questões consideradas relevantes pelos homens públicos daqueles tempos em relação à educação das mulheres.
Abstract:	This work seeks to contribute to the writing of the history of education in Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo. It seeks to discuss about the analysis of regional press - particularly the Daily Newspaper News (Diario de Noticias), the representations constructed around the women that space in the years 1930 and 1940. By reading the Daily News (Diario de Noticias), we believe it is possible to reconstruct the thoughts that regulate the printed ordering mainly the women s education. By reading the sources produced by the interior of scholars, we seek to understand which were the favorite themes around the feminine universe, as well as the issues considered relevant by public men of those times in relation of the education of the women.
