Summary:	Caldas Novas em uma estancia hidrotermal. Os processos de construções simbólicos e concretos oriundos de um projeto de utilização das águas termais da cidade. Os processos envolvidos na realização deste projeto, as mudanças da urbanização da cidade, a influencia do momento sanitarista e moralizador dos anos de 1920. As dificuldades encontradas pelos lideres locais os coronéis das águas -. Quais foram às dificuldades em utilizar a educação como parte do projeto transformador, como se deu as conquistas da cidade no tocante as primeiras décadas do século XX e em especial a transformação da cidade, focando o apagamento de sua memoria histórica, a manutenção do mito das águas quentes como fonte de saúde e juventude. As relações com o estado e as perspectivas de crescimento econômico que uma cidade balneária poderia oferecer. O lazer substituindo a saúde e as mediações que foram necessárias para as mudanças.
Abstract:	This research analyzes the project which aimed to transform the city of Caldas Novas in to a hydrothermal spa. The processes of symbolic and concrete constructions from within one project for use of the thermal waters of the city. The processes involved in this project, the changes in the city\'s urbanization, the influence of time sanitarian and moralizing 1920s. The difficulties encountered by local leaders - the colonels waters -. What were the difficulties in using education as part of the transformation project, how did the achievements of the city regarding the first decades of the twentieth century and in particular the transformation of the city, focusing on erasing their historical memory, maintaining the myth of warm water as a source of health and youth.
