Abstract

This dissertation explores travesti literature as a disruptive force against the ontological, epistemic, and aesthetic structures that uphold the modern concepts of subject, language, and humanity. Focusing on Neca by Amara Moira and Traquejos Pentecostais para Matar o Senhor – by Ventura Profana, the research approaches travestility not as a static identity but as an embodied epistemology, political body, and insurgent poetics. Grounded in decolonial, transfeminist, and antiracist literary criticism, the study mobilizes concepts such as languaging, identity-in-politics, epistemology of debauchery, and plurinationality. Rather than representing travestility, the work proposes an affected listening to its narrative performances, where eroticism, faith, mockery, and insubordination become reading and writing practices. This is a journey between submission and destruction, between pleasure and prayer, between the blade and the altar. Travesti literature is understood here as a gesture of healing and an offering to the travestis who write, to those who came before, and to those yet to come.
