Rock de combate: a música do grupo The Clash como objeto de estudo em sala de aula no ensino médio (décadas de 1970 e 1980)

Abstract

This work, having as a reference the premises and skills of the National Common Curricular Base, addresses the use of the songs of the English punk band The Clash as a tool to improve and update methodologies for teaching History in High School. The proposal includes the use of podcasts as an innovative pedagogical resource, enabling the creation of content by students themselves, which favors engagement and the development of communicative, digital and critical skills. Through this strategy, themes from the history of the present, such as xenophobia, immigration, racism, as well as economic and social problems, are discussed through the band's lyrics and melodies, encouraging critical thinking and providing a space for debate of contemporary concerns brought by students. The interdisciplinarity between History and the English Language also stands out in this process, promoting broader and more contextualized learning.
