Summary:	O presente Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso analisa as bases do pensamento conservador e ultramontano no Brasil Imperial, com foco na atuação de figuras intelectuais e eclesiásticas da época, como Padre Perereca e Marcos Antônio Romualdo de Seixas. O estudo investiga as dinâmicas políticas, ideológicas e religiosas que moldaram as instituições e a sociedade brasileira no século XIX, destacando a influência do discurso católico conservador na manutenção da ordem imperial e na resistência às ideias liberais emergentes.
Abstract:	This Undergraduate Thesis analyzes the foundations of conservative and ultramontane thought in Imperial Brazil, focusing on the role of intellectual and ecclesiastical figures of the period, such as Padre Perereca and Marcos Antônio Romualdo de Seixas. The study investigates the political, ideological, and religious dynamics that shaped 19th-century Brazilian institutions and society, highlighting the influence of conservative Catholic discourse in maintaining the imperial order and resisting emerging liberal ideas.
