Álbum de formatura: e os desejos de ser o que fui

Abstract

This artistic project investigates and recreates memories of the author's adolescence between 2000 and 2010, blending performative photographs, sets, and texts taken from personal diaries. Through an autobiographical approach, she revisits her childhood and adolescence to materialize old dreams and construct personas inspired by contemporary internet figures and pop culture elements. Using references from the time, such as Capricho magazines, MTV, Orkut, Facebook, and music videos, the author creates an "album of invented memories" that blends nostalgia and critique, celebrating the youth culture of that period. The absence of a traditional graduation album motivates the creation of this work as a way to record, in her own way, the end of her university degree in Visual Arts. With theoretical support from authors such as Stuart Hall (2006) and Augusto Fiedler (2016), the work reflects on identity, belonging, and the process of personal development during youth. The work functions both as an emotional recovery and as a cultural record of a generation. In addition to the photo album, this project also presented as a final result a solo exhibition, held at the gallery laboratory in September 2025.
