Análise socioespacial do processo de regularização da ocupação Glória

Abstract

The Elisson Prieto neighborhood known as Glória occupation, located in the east zone of the city of Uberlândia, on the edge of the city towards the BR-050, is a land that belonged to the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU). It was occupied in mid-2012 and has an area of 65 hectares and has approximately 15 thousand people, according to the Housing Company of Minas Gerais (COHAB-MG). In a process of struggle for housing, the occupation underwent several attempts to repossession until 2017, when an agreement was reached: MPF, UFU and Neighborhood Association Élisson Prieto, when it was decided that the UFU would donate the area to Uberlândia City Hall and Cohab-MG would be in charge of regularization through a fund financed by residents, such as ZEIS – Special Interest Zone, however the process has been going through several stages, the partnership of the State Government, through COHAB-MG to assist in this regularization process, it has been fundamental, even though the regularization has not been completed. This research aimed to critically analyze and understand what reasons led the process to drag on for so many years. The scientific investigation was carried out through a qualitative methodological analysis with the defined objective of clarifying the situation of the Elisson Prieto neighborhood, because the process that could become a great example of a land regularization process in the municipality of Uberlândia was not completed. up to the present date, how the agents involved acted, the situation of the infrastructure, an analysis through maps so that you can understand why the urban design is the way it is and the problems that the population of Glória may have. With the possibility of understanding the urban space that exists and whether it is suitable for the population to live there, and with these data, the conclusion of this research tries to shed light on the reasons that made this process drag on so long and what can be done to conclude and, proposals for the neighborhood that provide improvements aimed at the quality of life of residents and urban vitality.
