A literatura infantil como instrumento de prevenção ao abuso sexual: revisão integrativa sobre a obra "Segredo, segredíssimo"

Abstract

Sexual violence against children and adolescents constitutes a social and educational challenge of great complexity, requiring preventive approaches that respect the specificities of the child audience. This study aimed to analyze how children's literature can be used as an instrument for preventing child sexual abuse, through an integrative review based on the work "Segredo, Segredíssimo" (2011), and thereby identify contributions to the development of critical awareness, self-esteem, and the protection of children in situations where their rights are violated1. To achieve this purpose, an integrative review of academic production related to the theme was carried out, selecting relevant studies that addressed both the content of the work and the mediation strategies suggested for its use in pedagogical contexts. The analysis showed that the book is widely recognized for its sensitive and educational approach, being considered an important resource for promoting dialogue about risk situations. However, it was observed that preventive effectiveness strongly depends on qualified mediation, the preparation of educators, and the institutional environment in which the reading takes place. The limitations of the research include the concentration on a single work and the absence of empirical studies on direct reception by children, indicating the need for broader and more contextualized future investigations. In summary, children's literature, when used critically and planned, proves to be a promising instrument for strengthening child protection practices and fostering the construction of critical awareness about children's rights.
