Super-heróis para a Educação Geográfica: abordagem fílmica para os conceitos da Geografia

Abstract

The present paper has as its centrality the relationship between superhero films and geographic education as a didactic construction through film language; thus, we seek the edification of this relationship in the construction of a didactic resource to instigate the interest of students in Geography classes. The proposal arose in a context in which students consider the school environment monotonous, and relating school content to films that are part of their daily lives can instigate students’ interest in the teaching process. The methodology was the application of thematic classes, using scenes from superhero films focusing on contents such as globalization, cartographic scale, the African continent, and the European continent. The results pointed to an increase in the interest and participation of the students, who showed greater engagement with the themes that were worked on in the classroom. We understand that superhero films, when used as a didactic tool with proper planning, can be effective for the teaching of Geography.
