Impacto da pandemia da covid-19 nos indicadores financeiros das empresas aéreas listadas na bolsa de valores brasileira

Abstract

With the emergence of the new coronavirus (COVID-19), the world has experienced several moments of uncertainty and insecurity, directly affecting people's lives. Measures such as lockdowns were decreed in several regions of the world, directly impacting all sectors of the economy, especially the airline industry. Within this context, one of the most effective ways to analyze the impacts of the pandemic on companies is by using economic and financial indexes, such as profitability, debt, and liquidity indexes. This scientific article aims to use these indexes, combined with a statistical analysis, in order to validate whether the impacts on companies during the pandemic were statistically significant, contributing to a more robust analysis. The research focuses on Brazilian airlines listed on B3, namely: Azul S.A. and Gol S.A., with the periods from 2016 to 2019 defined as before the pandemic and 2020 to 2023 as during the pandemic. The results obtained in the analysis of the liquidity, profitability and debt ratios of the companies Gol and Azul show relevant trends, although without statistical significance.
