| Summary: | No ano de 1955, estreavam os filmes Sementes da Violência, de Richard Brooks, e Juventude Transviada, dirigido por Nicholas Ray. Ambas as produções trazem respectivamente jovens americanos pobres e suburbanos da década de 1950. Na abordagem da juventude, as obras apresentam aspectos que buscavam reforçar a imagem desse grupo, contribuindo para afirmar e indicar as roupas que usavam, as músicas que ouviam, os alimentos que consumiam, a relação com os adultos que estavam em seu entorno e marcaram olhares sobre o comportamento que mantinham. Fundamentado nas questões postas pelas duas películas citadas, este trabalho tem como objetivo questionar como as visualidades desse período buscaram inventar e construir rostos para os teenagers por meio de determinados signos que marcaram parâmetros a partir dos quais esta época pode ser compreendida em uma dimensão visual de sociedade. |
| Abstract: | In 1955, Blackboard Jungle (1955), by Richard Brooks, and Rebel Without a Cause (1955), directed by Nicholas Ray were released. Both films feature poor, suburban American youths from the 1950s. In their approach to youth, the works present aspects that sought to reinforce the image of this group, helping to affirm and indicate the clothes they wore, the music they listened to, the food they consumed, their relationship with the adults around them and the way they behaved. Based on the questions posed by the two films mentioned, this paper aims to question how the visualities of this period sought to invent and construct faces for teenagers through certain signs that set parameters from which this era can be understood in a visual dimension of society. |
