| Summary: | This paper aims to analyze the origin and recent development of the BRICS, as well as the progressive erosion and rupture of its founding principles, exacerbated by the outbreak of the Ukraine War and the admission of new member countries. The ability of Russia and China to manipulate the BRICS, positioning them as passive supporters on the international stage, and the majority entry of Middle Eastern countries, make it clear that the BRICS are deliberately moving towards altering the nature of the group, with a more combative stance towards the West in rhetorical/ideological, geopolitical, economic, legal, and military realms, consolidating what we term the "New Cold War". |
| Abstract: | Este trabajo tiene como objetivo analizar el origen y el desarrollo reciente de los BRICS, así como la progresiva descaracterización y ruptura de sus principios fundacionales, agravada por el estallido de la Guerra de Ucrania y la entrada de nuevos países miembros. La capacidad de Rusia y China para manipular a los BRICS, posicionándolos como partidarios pasivos en el escenario internacional, y la entrada mayoritaria de países del Medio Oriente, deja claro que los BRICS están deliberadamente avanzando hacia la alteración de la naturaleza del grupo, con una formación más combativa contra Occidente en aspectos retóricos/ideológicos, geopolíticos, económicos, jurídicos y militares, consolidando lo que llamamos la "Nueva Guerra Fría". |
