Políticas migratórias durante o regime militar brasileiro: entre o migrante "objeto" e o sujeito de direitos

Abstract

The issue of migration and its normative mechanisms are configured to ensure the rights of immigrants beyond their country of origin and to guarantee their entry into a new territory. However, the movement of immigrants, within the context of a military dictatorship, became restricted and was controlled by the interests of the military within the Executive power. From this perspective, this paper aims to conduct an in-depth analysis of the migration regulations implemented during the Brazilian military regime in order to understand their normative content, mechanisms, and to present their impacts that directly affected immigrants, restricting their entry into Brazilian territory. In addition, the topics on human rights addressing the issue of migration will be discussed in order to understand how the Brazilian military government acted in both its domestic and international contexts.
