Abstract

The work 'Visual Arts Studio, inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, as a enhancer of learning for children in early childhood education at Colégio Nacional' emerges from the experience of living in a school designed according to the practices and studies of Loris Malaguzzi. Exploring theorists and understanding the importance of expressiveness, creativity, and aesthetics in the educational processes of development and knowledge construction, a new perspective on early childhood education arises, highlighting the need to value expressive and poetic languages as an integral and essential part of children's learning process. The presence of the studio and the atelierista in the daily life of the school contributes to the integration and enrichment of the educational process, making it more complete and integrated. The expressive languages explored in the studio played essential roles in children's learning, uniting emotions, empathy, rationality, and cognition in a natural and inseparable way, favoring the construction of imagination and a richer approach to reality. Additionally, we explore the presence of the studio, understanding that it also positively influences pedagogical documentation, creating a movement of poetic involvement among the school community and highlighting the importance of sensitivity to poetic languages in early childhood education.
