articulações do membro inferior durante o SDT, no entanto, a magnitude dessa
Down Test.
grupo NVDJ (p=0,017) e a máxima angulação do joelho no plano frontal no grupo
41,6%.
Abstract
Introduction: Muscle weakness in the trunk or lack of neuromuscular control
influences the distribution of forces along the lower limb, which may affect its
alignment, which would result in modification of the range of motion of the joints
of the lower limb during SDT, however, the magnitude of this influence is not yet
known, nor is the impact on the range of motion in the joints of the lower limb.
Objective: To verify whether there is an association between range of motion
and muscle strength of the lower limbs and trunk during SDT in female runners
with or without dynamic valgus. Methodology: 37 women were selected, aged
20 to 35 years, who may or may not have dynamic valgus in the knee, amateur
runners who started within 2 years, with a running frequency of up to 20 km/week.
The participants were divided into two groups, one with valgus and the other
without valgus, which was evaluated during 3 repetitions of the Step Down Test.
Results: The results showed that in relation to anthropometric and muscle
strength data, the VDJ group had lower muscle strength in the hip extensor
muscles (p=0.049). Hierarchical linear regression analysis showed that hip
angular excursion in the frontal plane in the NVDJ group (p=0.017) and maximum
knee angulation in the frontal plane in the VDJ group can be predicted by
associated hip and trunk muscle strength. Conclusion: The group of amateur
runners with dynamic valgus had a lower level of muscular strength than the
group without dynamic valgus, and maximum knee angulation in the frontal plane
can be predicted by the strength of the associated trunk and hip muscles in
84.4%. The group of amateur runners without dynamic valgus presented a higher
level of muscular strength in the hip muscles, and the angular excursion of the
hip in the frontal plane from this group can be predicted by the muscular strength
of the associated trunk and hip muscles in 41.6%.
