Mapeamento de Dados Geotécnicos dos Solos Superficiais do Setor Sul de Uberlândia-MG.

Abstract

The urban region of the municipality of Uberlândia-MG-Brazil, especially the Southern Sector, has grown rapidly. The geotechnical information of the subsoil is essential to subsidize the civil construction work, which will determine the most efficient type of foundation or other geotechnical intervention for the structure to be built. This work aims to contribute to the collection of geotechnical information of the subsoil of the Southern Sector of Uberlândia, to assist future actions of planning, use and occupation of the physical environment, according to the data of soil type, depth of the water level and penetration resistance index (NSPT). All the NSPT indexes were obtained via SPT probing executed by local companies. It was defined the collection of one SPT survey per square kilometer, so the scale of the mapping is between 1:500,000 and 1:100,000, which is applicable to planning the land occupation and use. The prospected points were mapped in the QGIS software, according to their location, naming, water level data and the average NSPT. Finally, there were obtained the predominant soil type, its consistency or compacity, and the water levels of the studied region.
