| Summary: | Em cães, as deformidades angulares do membro torácico são comumente encontradas, e, geralmente, afetam o rádio e a ulna. As causas são variadas, podendo ser relacionadas a distúrbios no crescimento ósseo decorrentes de traumas a fise radial ou ulnar, condodistrofia ou condrodisplasia, herança genética, desordens metabólicas, deficiência nutricional, fechamento prematuro das fises distais do rádio e da ulna ou má união de fraturas. O presente trabalho tem como objetivo relatar um caso de deformidade angular valgo do rádio distal em paciente canino, causado por má união de fratura, tratado por osteotomia corretiva pelo método CORA. Após a localização do centro de rotação angular da deformidade, o membro foi submetido a técnica de CWO (Closing Wedge osteotomy). Após 60 dias o paciente já estava deambulando normal e recebendo alta. Com este relato podemos concluir que a técnica de CWO para este caso se mostrou efetiva e que é essencial o método CORA para localização e planejamento das osteotomias corretivas. |
| Abstract: | In dogs, angular deformities of the thoracic limb are commonly found, and generally affect the radius and ulna. The causes are varied and may be related to disorders in bone growth resulting from trauma to the radial or ulnar physis, chondodystrophy or chondrodysplasia, genetic inheritance, metabolic disorders, nutritional deficiency, premature closure of the distal physis of the radius and ulna or poor union of fractures. The present work aims to report a case of angular valgus deformity of the distal radius in a canine patient, caused by fracture malunion, treated by corrective osteotomy using the CORA method. After locating the center of angular rotation of the deformity, the limb underwent the CWO (Closing Wedge osteotomy) technique. After 60 days, the patient was already walking normally and was discharged. With this report, we can conclude that the CWO technique for this case was demonstrated to be effective and that the CORA method is essential for locating and planning corrective osteotomies. |
