Brasil e neoliberalismo: Rodadas de neoliberalização e limites à autonomia de política econômica

Abstract

Since the end of the last century, neoliberalism has advanced over Brazilian society, promoting setbacks for the country. Therefore, this work seeks to understand what defines neoliberalism and the advances of this movement in Brazilian territory. Thus, we aim to discover whether there have been rounds of neoliberalization over the more than 30 years that neoliberal hegemony has been observed in Brazil. We also seek to understand the reasons that lead to the perpetuation of the neoliberal order throughout this extensive period and observe how financialization imposes limits on the country's actions. To do this, we used the bibliographic review process to reach the conclusion that there were in fact three rounds of neoliberalization in Brazil and that each of them will act in its own way to respond to the interests of the financial system, perpetuating the neoliberal order.
