Caminhando em Lado a Lado (2012): As potencialidades da telenovela para a pesquisa historiográfica e para a aprendizagem histórica

Abstract

This work aims to explore and present the potentialities from the use of soap operas when embraced as an object of study and source for historiographic research, as well as a resource for History teaching. Based on the bibliographic research and the analysis of the soap opera ‘Lado a Lado’ (2012) as a source, this work proposes a verification upon the motherhood presented on the villain of the plot, Constancia, based on the trinomial wife housewife mother of family from Margareth Rago. As an educational application, it is used the cognitive operations of historical learning by Jörn Rüsen in order to formulate a brief teaching proposal based on the feminine conditions in Brazil from the mid 19th and beginning of 20th century. Therefore, it concludes the possibilities of using soap operas as source and object for historiographical studies placed on the characterization of Constância and learning strategies, resorting to the teacher’s mediation, contacting the students subjectivity and the scientific knowledge from History.
