arremesso lateral do futebol.
Abstract
The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of performance success criteria on anxiety
and motor learning. Forty young adults of both sexes took part in the study, divided into a group
with easy success criteria (GF) and a group with difficult success criteria (GD). The motor task
analyzed was the soccer side throw. All participants performed 5 pre-test trials, followed by 30
trials in the acquisition phase divided into 6 blocks of 5 throws with the target positioned at
75% of the participant's maximum force. Before the start of this phase, the participants in the
GF group were instructed that it would be considered a good performance in practice if they
managed to hit their shots on the second edge of the target (2 points), either in front of or behind
the center. On the other hand, participants in the GD group were instructed that it would be
considered a good practice performance if they managed to hit their shots in the center of the
target (5 points). After 24 hours, all participants performed the retention test, with practice
similar to the acquisition phase, and the transfer test, with the target positioned at 50% of the
participant's maximum force, consisting of ten throws each. Anxiety and intrinsic motivation
questionnaires were administered at different times during the study. The results showed no
difference in throwing accuracy, anxiety and intrinsic motivation at any stage of the study. It is
concluded that different conditions affecting the experience of success do not result in
differences in anxiety, intrinsic motivation and the acquisition of the soccer throw
