Protocolo para triagem psicossocial e cuidado interprofissional da população pediátrica com câncer

Abstract

The diagnosis of childhood cancer has a negative impact on the patient and his family, both in physical and psychosocial aspects. Faced with this stressful experience, the importance of psychosocial screening and comprehensive and systematic care aimed at the needs of this population is highlighted. Psychosocial screening is an important step to identify health risks in pediatric cancer patients. From this initial assessment, it is possible to identify the specific needs that will guide the planning of psychosocial and interprofessional interventions. The aim of the study was to develop a protocol for psychosocial screening and interprofessional care for the pediatric population with cancer and their families screened by the PAT and COPHAT-CA instruments. A scoping review was carried out and then meetings were held with professionals from the multidisciplinary team responsible for caring for the oncopediatric patient/family member at HC-UFU and HCA to obtain information on the clinical and biopsychosocial performance aimed at this public. During the scoping review, we identified a paucity of available evidence that addressed interventions targeting the pediatric population with cancer screened by the PAT and COPHAT-CA. In the meetings, 15 professionals answered about their clinical performance in the face of the demands of the pediatric population with cancer, according to the items of the instruments. Through the literature search and meetings, it was possible to develop a protocol for psychosocial screening and interprofessional care of the pediatric population with cancer. This protocol inaugurates the standardization of psychosocial screening by PAT and COPHAT-CA accompanied by psychosocial and interprofessional interventions. The data presented in this study can promote the development of future research and clinical practices in pediatric oncology, linking need to care.
