| Summary: | O objetivo deste trabalho é investigar a adoção do Bitcoin como moeda legal por El Salvador em 07 de setembro de 2021. O país em questão apresentou como justificativa para tal ato a promoção do desenvolvimento econômico. Sendo assim, cabe apontar os possíveis efeitos econômicos positivos e negativos que a adoção do Bitcoin como moeda oficial pode causar na economia salvadorenha. A análise de diversos relatórios e bancos de dados de instituições internacionais sobre o Bitcoin, a economia de El Salvador e a adoção dessa criptomoeda no país permitiu concluir que, uma vez que a adoção do Bitcoin no país ainda é relativamente recente, poucas pessoas o usam, tanto os efeitos negativos e benéficos dessa criptomoeda na economia ainda não se concretizaram. |
| Abstract: | The objective of this work is to investigate the adoption of Bitcoin as legal currency by El Salvador on September 7, 2021. The country in question presented the promotion of economic development as a justification for this act. Therefore, it is worth pointing out the possible positive and negative economic effects that the adoption of Bitcoin as the official currency can have on the Salvadoran economy. The analysis of several reports and databases from international institutions about Bitcoin, the economy of El Salvador and the adoption of this cryptocurrency in the country led to the conclusion that, since the adoption of Bitcoin in the country is still relatively recent, few people use it. , both the negative and beneficial effects of this cryptocurrency on the economy have yet to materialize. |
