Dilemas do narrar: uma análise da narrativa na HQ Maus de Art Spiegelman

Abstract

The present work seeks to reflect on how the narrative Maus (2009), a comic book by Art Spiegelman, is constituted as a mediation of the experience of time, with the aim of understanding the relationship between narrative, time and culture in a historical dimension. For this, the aim is to contextualize the work and analyze the way in which the narrative is constructed and its production of meaning, in the face of the dilemmas of narrating. Through a perspective of culture and the historicity of communicational processes, the investigation will start from a “narrativizing perspective” and an ethical point of view, thus, it will be possible to carry out a more in-depth narrative, historical and cultural analysis. The analysis, therefore, is divided into four sections in which the dilemmas of narrating are explicitly presented in the work, highlighting the most self-reflective moments, according to the elaboration of the author of this work. With this investigation, it is possible to understand that the act of narrating configures the cultural and temporal reality, and to deal with time in all its aporias and complexities, we narrate.
