| Summary: | A política externa de Fernando Henrique Cardoso (1995-2002) foi amplamente debatida e estudada ao longo dos anos. Contudo, como é frequente dentro das Relações Internacionais, os estudos se voltam para análises a partir de teorias mainstream, assim nota-se a importância de estudar a política externa brasileira a partir de lentes diferentes, com propostas para além das teorias anglosaxãs. Ademais, a escolha pela teoria argentina do Realismo Periférico se justifica por, além de ser uma teoria sul-americana, também possuir uma relação temporal surgindo no mesmo período que o governo escolhido como objeto de estudo. O questionamento que norteia este artigo é se a política externa do governo FHC pode ser analisada a partir dos conceitos do Realismo Periférico. A hipótese a ser comprovada é de que existem elementos para relacionar as ações da política brasileira às propostas da teoria e para tanto utiliza-se fontes primárias e secundárias. |
| Abstract: | The foreign policy of Fernando Henrique Cardoso (1995-2002) has been widely debated and studied over the years. However, as is frequent within International Relations, studies turn to analysis from mainstream theories, so is perceptible the importance of studying Brazilian foreign policy from different lenses, with proposals beyond anglosax theories. Moreover, the choice for the Argentine theory of Peripheral Realism is justified by, besides being a Sulamerican theory, also having a temporal relationship arising in the same period as the government chosen as the object of study. The question that guides this article is whether the foreign policy of the FHC government can be analyzed from the concepts of Peripheral Realism. The hypothesis to be proven is that there are elements to relate the actions of Brazilian politics to the proposals of the theory and for that it uses primary and secondary sources. |
