As realidades em mutação: um estudo cultural e narrativo do livro “O Homem do Castelo Alto”, de Philip K. Dick

Abstract

This work’s objective is to make a descriptive analysis of the narrative constructions in the book “The man in the High Castle”, by Philip K. Dick, through the cultural and temporal matrices as proposed by french philosopher Paul Ricour in his book “Time and Narrative”. Besides that, another two subjects will be observed: The “I Ching” and the metabook “The Grasshopper Lies Heavy”, as these serve as foundations upon which said constructions take shape. Here will be shown the cultural matrices that compose each one of these works and how, together, they draw the narrative intrigue’s web.
