| Summary: | O objetivo deste trabalho é analisar o comportamento do investimento estrangeiro direto (IED) nos países da América Latina (Brasil, Chile, Colômbia, México e Argentina) por meio da aplicação do índice de Grubel e Lloyd no período de 2014 a 2020. Como objetivo complementar, tem-se a intenção de elaborar uma comparação do quadro geral latinoamericano com um grupo de países desenvolvidos e com países em desenvolvimento. A pesquisa se utiliza de método quantitativo com a aplicação do índice de Grubel e Lloyd nos fluxos de investimento estrangeiro direto. Os resultados encontrados demonstraram que a América Latina apresenta índices relativamente baixos, sendo o Chile, a Colômbia e o México os principais responsáveis pelos investimentos no exterior. Ficou demonstrado também que o Brasil, apesar do grande aporte de investimentos recebidos, não contribui favoravelmente para o investimento direto no exterior (IDX). |
| Abstract: | This paper aims to analyze the behavior of foreign direct investment (FDI) in Latin American countries (Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Argentina) through the application of the Grubel and Lloyd index in the period from 2014 to 2020. In addition, there is the intention of comparing the general Latin American context with the context of developed and developing countries. The research uses a quantitative method to apply the Grubel and Lloyd index in foreign direct investment flows. The results showed that Latin America has relatively low rates, in which Chile, Colombia and Mexico are the main ones responsible for investments abroad, and that Brazil, despite a large number of investments received, does not contribute favorably to direct investments abroad (IDX). |
