Abstract
Faced the difficulties imposed by factors such as low payment, the increasing violence and
hostility against teachers in the school environment and public politics that try to stifle the
relevance of the teacher in the overall human formation of the individual, this work seeks to
investigate the existence of affective and optimistic relationships in teacher-teacher
relationships. student in science classes. The research was carried out through participant
observation and interviews with science teachers and elementary school students, in two public
schools in the city of Uberlândia - MG, one of them in face-to-face teaching, and the other in a
period of remote activities, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Among the results observed and
recorded, I was able to comprehend the affection, trust and diligence that the teachers had for
their students and the other way around. Such trust and respect even included the freedom
between the two of them to talk about personal matters, which could strengthen bonds and
positively affect their life prospects. All of this leads us to conclude that relationships of
affection and optimism occur in the school environment, both in face-to-face and remote
classes, and that affection generates a close relationship between the teacher and the students.
