A migração venezuelana no Brasil e a utilização da rede social Facebook no processo de integralização dos imigrantes

Abstract

The migration of people provides the circulation of information, the production of new spaces and the redefinition of others. Thus, this work aims to know the migratory flow of Venezuelans to Brazil and the role of social networks in the integration of these immigrants. to then get to know the Venezuelan migratory process and the role of social networks in the integration of these immigrants/refugees in Brazil. In its methodological design, the study consists of a historical analysis, with statistical data that outline the profile of Venezuelans coming to Brazil and the process of interiorization, in addition to an observation exercise on the social network Facebook. This observation had two phases in which the first consisted of an overall assessment of 40 groups and six virtual communities, and the second phase was conducted with a more detailed analysis of two groups and one community. The result of the historical research showed that foreigners migrate to Brazil for various reasons influenced by political, economic, humanitarian issues, among others. Regarding the case study, it can be seen that the political and economic situation in Venezuela ended up causing a large exodus of people not only to Brazil, but around the world, caused by the lack of minimum conditions for survival. In the Brazilian case, when receiving the immigrants there was an overload of services mainly in the border regions, which made the State develop an interiorization plan for other regions of the country. By observing the profiles of Facebook groups and communities aimed at Venezuelan immigrants/refugees in Brazil, the study made it possible to verify that these profiles have an important role in their integration in the cities they are living in. The study also made it possible to conclude that social networks offer a gamification of possibilities for connections and knowledge that can facilitate living in Brazil, through information and even the possibility of uniting people who are in the same situation. In general, the migratory experience, especially in the case of Venezuelans, is not an easy process for most of those who have migrated, but there are digital spaces that can facilitate and create a support network, allowing these migrants throughout their experience in Brazil are able to integrate in a more peaceful way and thus obtain new opportunities
