Diagnóstico dos Crimes Ambientais no Município de Ituiutaba-MG (2008-2019)

Abstract

The impacts on the environment reflect the mode of exploitation that has been used by man since ancient times. The relationship of production that encompasses the natural, productive and economic systems implies the use of natural resources for the production and circulation of goods. This factor has brought constant degradation to the environment, installing the so-called environmental crisis. Thus, several mechanisms aimed at preventing harmful conduct to the environment, have emerged among humanity, including the promotion of specific protective norms, including criminal legislation (specific branch of law). In Brazil, environmental infractions and their penalties are described in Law n.. 9,605, of 1998, called the Environmental Crimes Law. The present investigation had as main objective to investigate the environmental crimes of greater occurrence in the city of Ituiutaba-MG between the years, of 2008-2019. In the meantime, the methodology adopted was based on bibliographical and documentary research, with a quantitative and qualitative approach. To this end, data were collected through the System Social Defense Events Registry (REDS), which is part of the Integrated Social Defense System, encompassing the Civil and Military Police, Military Fire Brigade and Prison System of the State of Minas Gerais for the launch. occurrences related to social defense events. Through the data survey, it was possible to identify numbers of records, their main types, proceeding to tabulate the most common crimes. Through the results obtained, it was diagnosed that the three most environmental crimes committed in the period were: a) illegal trade in eggs, larvae or specimens; b) establishment of polluting works or services and; c) destruction or damage to a permanent preservation forest. At the end, it was suggested that the results of the work be delivered to specific sectors such as the Environmental Police, the Public Ministry of the Environment and the Municipal Secretariat for the Environment, with a statement of some actions and proposals for mitigating the problem, among them, educational lectures and the elaboration of educational / informational material to be distributed to the population, raising awareness among adolescents and young people about the importance of the environment.
