| Summary: | O presente estudo propõe uma análise da adaptação do romance O conto da aia (1985), de Margaret Atwood, para a série de mesmo nome produzida por Bruce Miller e exibida pela plataforma de streaming Hulu. A análise é baseada no cotejo entre o primeiro episódio da primeira temporada da série e os trechos do livro correspondentes às cenas adaptadas. Com o apoio de reflexões sobre adaptação (SANDERS, 2006; HUTCHEONS, 2013) e sobre foco narrativo (USPENSKY, 1973; FRIEDMAN, 2002), buscou-se compreender os elementos utilizados para definir o ponto de vista em ambos. |
| Abstract: | The present study proposes an analysis of the adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s novel The Handmaid's Tale (1985) to the same-name series produced by Bruce Miller and exhibited by the streaming platform Hulu. The analysis relies on the comparison between the first episode of the first season of the series and the excerpts from the book corresponding to the adapted scenes. Based on reflections on adaptation (SANDERS, 2006; HUTCHEONS, 2013) and on point of view in narrative (USPENSKY, 1973; FRIEDMAN, 2002), the aim of this work is to understand the elements used to build point of view in both works. |
