Construindo uma relação entre “Direito e Cultura Pop”: um novo olhar sobre a Cultura Jurídica

Abstract

This work aims to analyze the existing relations between Law and Pop Culture, having Legal Culture as a starting point. To this end, this work will view Law as a human cultural construction, demonstrating the cultural forms that emanate from the legal field, namely Internal Legal Culture and External Legal Culture, using Lawrence M. Friedman as a theoretical framework. Further on, the paper aims to highlight the ways in which approaches to legal topics in Pop Culture alter and influence the formation of law, which in turn creates trends in mass cultural products. At the end, the research moves towards the analysis of the film "The Chicago 7", directed by Aaron Sorkin, starting from the bias of political judgment, in order to demonstrate the validity of the interactions between Pop Culture and Legal Culture. The research was exploratory, theoretical in nature, and used case studies to elucidate the concepts.
