Abstract

Health problems related to sun exposure, such as skin cancer and photoaging, can be minimized and / or avoided by the daily use of sunscreens. The use of sunscreens aims to reduce the amount of UV radiation to be absorbed by the human skin acting as a shield. For this reason, there is increasing awareness of the population about the damage caused by overexposure to the sun and the importance of using photoprotectors, and following this trend, the market offers its answer. With the objective of offering products with better protection efficiency, greater chemical stability and more accessible prices to the population, the segment has demanded from the formulators and the manufacturers of raw material great improvement, which leads to improvements in the production stages and, consequently, the need for constant studies on solar filters. In addition to the market aspect, the focus of this work is to understand the process steps of the sunscreens, from the choice of raw materials to the final product, their respective production equipment, as well as the legislative norms for launching a sunscreen in the market.
