Reabilitação oral pós ressecção de tumor marrom do hiperparatireoidismo em maxila: relato de caso

Abstract

The brown tumor is a focal giant cell lesion associated with primary or secondary hyperparathyroidism, invasive in cases, but without neoplastic potential. It is more common in long bones, ribs and pelvis, but can occur in any bone, including the maxilla and mandible, forming lesions are rare. The objective of the work is to report the clinical case of a 42-year-old female patient, victim of the brown tumor of hyperparathyroidism, in a maxillary area in the right hemiarcada whose lesion caused a bucosinusal communication due to surgical excision. After anamnesis, clinical examination and case study, it was decided to rehabilitate a patient by making a removable partial prosthesis with palatal obturator associated with implants by means of a clip bar retention system. For this, an implantation surgery of two bone implants was performed, in the anterior region (tooth 21) and in the region of the posterior zygomatic body. For making the prosthesis, all the necessary clinics and laboratories were performed, from the anatomical impression for the study model to its acrylization and installation. In addition, the waxing of the infrastructure for the casting of the prosthetic bar is obtained, in order to obtain the double retention system (bar clip system and retaining clips). At the end of the clinical case, it was concluded that a maxillofacial prosthesis was successful in the rehabilitation of the patient, returning the structure, function and aesthetics and social reintegration of the patient into society.
