O cuidado a pacientes em risco suicida: uma experiência na Residência Multiprofissional

Abstract

The present work proposes to discuss the challenges and possibilities of interventions with patients at risk of suicide, through the experience report of a psychologist inserted in the Multiprofessional Health Residency Program (PRMS) in the area of Patient Care in a Critical State (APEC) in a General Hospital in a city of Minas Gerais. To do so, it was necessary to relate these patients at risk of suicide to the concept of a critical patient, understanding that this criticality can go beyond organic issues and include aspects related to mental health. In order to foster the discussion, elements such as the perception of these subjects in society and possible unconscious motivations in the phenomena of ideation and suicide attempt were approached. Clinical vignettes of cases attended by the psychologist in several fields of action within the Multiprofessional Residency Program were used, articulating them with psychoanalytic concepts like pulse, passage to the act, acting out and clinical listening. The importance of listening focused on these patients was highlighted, as well as the need for greater discussions and projects aimed at training health professionals and the population in general, who still present difficulties in understanding the subject and in managing suffering subjects who idealize or attempt suicide.
