Exposição Itinerante de Física: implicações na motivação dos estudantes

Abstract

The teaching of Physics has aroused the interest of researchers due to, among other factors, the challenges and learning difficulties faced by students and teachers in the classroom. This scenario is reflected in the several publications in the field of Physics teaching that try to understand these challenges and overcome them. Some of the challenges found in teaching and learning Physics can be related to the own discipline curriculum, the number of classes offered weekly, the lack of teaching laboratories and to the students’ motivation. With the endeavor of helping to overcome these challenges, the proposal of this work is to present and discuss a strategy related to the use experiments. Some researchers understand that the use of experiments and the practical activities carried out in non-formal environments of education can help in the actions that are carried out in the school can help in the development of Physics classs. In that way, a set of experiments was developed that was taken to some schools in Janaúba/MG. The experiments developed provide to observe in practical and concrete way, several concepts related to the study of Physical that make up the curriculum of the basic education schools. To evaluate the viability of the operation and the impact of the “Itinerant Physics Exhibition” on students, the activity was held in two schools of Janaúba and students who participated in the activity were asked to answer questionnaires. A catalog was made containing information of the construction, use and concepts addressed in each experiment that makes up the “Itinerant Physics Exhibition”. The Itinerant Physics Exhibition and the catalog are the product generated from the development of this work and has the title “Experimentos de Física”. The results of the questionnaire applied during the research show that the use of experiments in can have positive effects on the development of autonomy, the competence sensation and the establishment of link in students, which are factors related to intrinsic motivation. Therefore, research resulted in some works that were presented in events related to teaching in 2018 and 2019, and it was possible to conclude that it generated some contributions, helping in the reflections about some of the challenges found in the teaching and learning processes in Physics.
