Abstract

Obesity is a worldwide problem that causes several complications, among them, hypertension, diabetes, thrombosis, etc. In this sense, treatment that is effective and lasting, such as bariatric surgery, is necessary. Thus, this study aimed to verify the completion of the checklist for safe surgery in patients undergoing bariatric surgery at the Hospital de Clínicas de Uberlândia HC-UFU. A retrospective epidemiological study of these patients who underwent bariatric surgery from January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2017, performed at the Hospital de Clínicas de Uberlândia - HC-UF, through the review of medical records, in the amount of 65 samples and through the eligibility and exclusion criteria were performed a review observing the checklist of the patient safety check.
