| Summary: | Este relato técnico tem como objetivo, descrever os desafios e limitações na migração entre duas ferramentas de Business Intelligence (BI) em uma empresa, com ênfase na etapa de desenvolvimento dos relatórios, mostrando também as principais vantagens e desvantagens de cada uma das ferramentas e o motivo para a realização da migração. O referencial teórico foi baseado em torno do processo de BI. Dispondo de uma pesquisa de caráter qualitativo, utilizando o estudo de caso com estratégia, foi possível realizar o levantamento dos principais motivos que levou a realização da migração. A triangulação das fontes de dados se deu a partir da participação deste pesquisador em um projeto em andamento na empresa estudada, entrevistas não estruturadas com os membros da equipe de desenvolvimento, pesquisas na internet em diversos artigos e documentos com foco em Business Intelligence e as ferramentas Business Objects e Microstrategy. Os resultados obtidos apontam os desafios e dificuldades em migrar relatórios entre as ferramentas Business Objects e Microstrategy, também mostra as medidas necessárias para que haja uma migração bem estruturada, resultando em um melhor desempenho comparado com o ambiente anterior. |
| Abstract: | This technical report aims to describe the challenges and limitations in the migration between two Business Intelligence (BI) tools in a company, with emphasis on the development stage of the reports. the main advantages and disadvantages of each of the tools and the reason for performing the migration. The theoretical framework was based around the BI process and the tools used (BO and MSTR). Having a qualitative research, using the case study with strategy, it was possible to survey the main reasons that led to the exchange of tools by the company. The triangulation of data sources came from the participation of this researcher in an ongoing project in the company studied, unstructured interviews with members of the development team, internet research in several articles and documents focused on Business Intelligence and the tools Business Objects and Microstrategy. The results show the challenges and difficulties in migrating reports between Business Objects and MicroStrategy tools, also show the necessary measures for a well structured migration, resulting in a better performance compared to the previous environment. |
