Para morrer basta estar vivo, ou ser negro: análise do valor político da vida negra à luz da necropolítica e a reação do Movimento Black Lives Matter

Abstract

When we talk about contemporary violence associated with the black population, we can see, together with the high homicide rates, the banalization of the value of these lives, which are taken daily and treated indifferently, both by the population and by the State. The reason why these deaths do not cause the commotion and mobilization that they should, concerns a racism historically perpetrated and still very latent in civil societies. Thus, the central goal of this article is to analyze the way the theory of necropolitics, through the depreciation of black life's value, is related to a racist social structure capable of making these deaths invisible to society and to the State, applying such theoretical concepts to the study of the Black Lives Matter movement and the United States racial context.
