Summary:	O presente artigo objetiva verificar os aspectos da prova testemunhal e sua real valoração no processo penal, analisando sua eficiência e eficácia como fundamento da sentença condenatória. Para tanto, aborda a psicologia do testemunho, bem como analisa o fenômeno das falsas memórias e a fidedignidade dos testemunhos.
Abstract:	The present article aims to verify the aspects of the testimonial evidence and its real valuation in the criminal process, analyzing its efficiency and effectiveness as the basis of the conviction. To do so, it addresses the psychology of testimony, as well as examines the phenomenon of false memories and the trustworthiness of testimonies.
