O Processo de Substituição de Solução de Business Intelligence em uma Empresa de TI

Abstract

The objective of this technical report was to describe the process of migrating Business Objects (BI) Business Objects (BO) tool to Micro Strategy (MSTR) in an Information Technology company, with emphasis on the reporting test stage, where the main advantages and disadvantages of each of the tools were analyzed, describing the reasons for triggering such a migration process. The theoretical framework was developed around the BI process and tools (BO and MSTR) and the testing stage. With a qualitative research, using the case study as strategy, the main problems encountered in the BO tool that was previously used by the company were identified, identifying the need to migrate the reports to the current MSTR tool used by the company. The triangulation of the data sources was based on the participation of this researcher in a project already completed in the company studied, unstructured interviews with BI analysts, internet research in various articles and documents with the themes Business Intelligence and the Business Objects tools and Micro Strategy. The results show the challenges in migrating reports from one BI tool to another and the measures for a well structured migration, resulting in better performance for data visualization and reporting solution.
