Cirurgia plástica periodontal: relato de caso clínico

Abstract

Patients with gingival smile usually are not satisfied with facial aesthetics. With the enhancement of knowledge, technique and ability, it is possible to change the positions of the gingival margins for a harmonious and aesthetic smile. Periodontal plastic surgery has as its function the correction or elimination of gingival, traumatic or developmental deformities, indicated in cases absent from periodontal diseases, aiming to create a harmonic gingival contour, interdental grooves and remodeling of the interdental papillae. Correction of the gingival smile is performed by removing the gingival collar, increasing the clinical crown of the upper teeth to decrease the height of the inserted gingiva, making it less noticeable during the smile. The objective of this study is to report a clinical case of periodontal and prosthetic adaptation, aiming at aesthetics and function, where during the planning of the treatment, Florida Cement-Bone Dysplasia was diagnosed. After diagnosis, gingivoplasty was performed, and temporary removable partial prosthesis was made with aesthetic and functional purpose.
