Desenvolvimento de software para análise antropológica de crânios humanos

Abstract

The anthropological examinations in bones are intended to characterize anatomical features that, somehow, contribute to human identification or allow its exclusion. Anthropological analysis of those bones, the search for characterization of the species, sex, the estimation of height, age and racial group are included. However, there are frequent situations on which has only the skull or part of it is the only source of information, which makes it necessary to apply examinations of complexity and high scientific reliability in their results. Aiming to ensure a greater reliability to the results of tests and enable greater practicality anthropological about your use, a software for anthropological analysis of human skulls was developed in this present work. For the development of this software, we used the MySQL database for the storage and transfer of information and the computational tool Microsoft Visual Studio with C # programming language. Accepted and currently used estimation techniques for craniometrical identification have been implemented, these being: sex determination (sexual dimorphism), estimate of ancestry; estimate of age, estimate of height. In order to offer and ensure results with high levels of reliability in anthropological analysis, the system developed can be modified and updated, taking into account the evolution of the methods studied. Thus, the applicability of this work extends by teaching, extension, criminal expertise and archeology.
