Análise da poluição sonora gerada pelos bares no entorno do Campus Santa Mônica da Universidade Federal de Uberlândia - MG.

Abstract

Sound pollution is an agent that degrades the environment and the quality of life of people, especially those who live in cities. The constant exposure to high levels of noise in urban centers is responsible for several ills to the health of the population. In this context, the objective of this study was to analyze the noise levels generated by the bars around the Santa Mônica Campus of the Federal University of Uberlândia, as well as to understand the perception of the people in the bars and the neighborhood in relation to this type of pollution. In order to do so, sound collections, through digital decibel meters, of the noise levels of 8 bars near the campus were made during their busy days. A survey of the opinion of shopkeepers and the neighborhood of the establishments was also carried out using questionnaires. This study pointed out that all the evaluated bars produced, on the days of measurements, noises above those allowed by the municipal environmental law. Concerning the sound perception, the great majority of the neighborhood affirmed to bother with the noise produced by the bars, mainly those, whose dwelling, limits with the establishments.
