Summary:	Encontramos na Educação formações iniciais que não se mostram suficientes para o exercício da docência, formações continuadas que não envolvem o cotidiano escolar e decisões governamentais que prejudicam toda a comunidade escolar, admitindo professores que não foram devidamente formados em suas áreas de atuação, negligenciando o ensino de componentes curriculares, tal como é o caso da atual situação do ensino de Educação Física na Educação Infantil no município de Uberlândia, em Minas Gerais. Além disso, a legislação brasileira que trata da Educação Física na Educação Infantil é ainda lacunar. A presente pesquisa parte das seguintes questões norteadoras: Qual é o papel da Educação Física na Educação Infantil? Como tem acontecido o trabalho de professores de Educação Física na Educação Infantil? Em quais aspectos o trabalho educativo desenvolvido por professores de Educação Física em instituição de Educação Infantil nos ensina sobre os limites e as possibilidades da Educação Física na educação de crianças no espaço-tempo da pré-escola? Qual tem sido a relação entre o trabalho de planejamento destes professores e a legislação vigente? O trabalho pedagógico tem acompanhado a realidade escolar? Este estudo teve como objetivo contribuir para o repensar da formação inicial e continuada do professor de Educação Física para atuar na Educação Infantil. Para tanto, a presente pesquisa constituiu-se como uma investigação de caráter qualitativo, combinando descrição e análise de práticas educativas de uma professora de Educação Física que trabalha em instituições de Educação Infantil no município de Uberlândia, buscando responder ao seguinte questionamento: Como tem sido desenvolvida a prática educativa de professores de Educação Física na Educação Infantil nas escolas da Prefeitura Municipal de Uberlândia? Buscar respostas para tal problema de pesquisa implicou a realização de um trabalho de campo envolvendo a formulação e aplicação de questionário e observação da prática educativa de uma Professora de Educação Física e suas duas turmas de crianças com 4 e 5 anos, além de uma entrevista semiestruturada com essa docente. Selecionamos essa professora a partir de seu desempenho no questionário, que nos mostrou parecer ser uma profissional responsável, conhecedora das legislações e demonstrou proximidade com os referenciais teóricos que apresentamos na pesquisa. Com isso, pudemos buscar compreender como é realizada a prática dessa professora e a coerência entre suas abordagens e sua docência. Encontramos fundamentos que nos levaram a considerar a professora competente e coerente com suas visões de infância apreendidas durante sua formação e que reafirmam a função da Educação Física na Educação Infantil. Apontamos elementos ausentes na prática dessa professora para aprimorar a qualidade de seu trabalho e a constante necessidade de repensar os cursos de formação inicial.
Abstract:	In Education we can find university graduations that are not enough for become a teacher, continuing education that does not involve daily school life and government decisions that harm the entire school community, admitting teachers who were not properly graduated in their areas of practice, neglecting teaching of subjects, as is the case of the current situation of Physical Education teaching in Preschool Education in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais. In addition, the brazilian legislation that manages about Physical Education in Preschool Education leaves a lot of gaps. The present research is based on the following guiding questions: What is the function of Physical Education in Preschool Education? How has the work of Physical Education teachers in Early Childhood Education happened? In which aspects does the educational work developed by Physical Education teachers in Preschool institution instruct us about the limits and possibilities of Physical Education in the education of children in preschool space-time? What has been the relationship between the planning work of these teachers and the current legislation? Has the pedagogical work followed the school reality? This study intended to contribute to rethink about graduation and continuing education of the Physical Education teacher, to work in Preschool Education. Therefore, the present research has a qualitative nature, combining description and analysis of educational practices of a Physical Education teacher who works in Preschool institutions in Uberlândia, seeking to answer the following question: How has been developed the educational practice of Physical Education teachers in Preschool Education in the schools in Uberlândia? Finding answers to this research question implied the accomplishment of a field work involving the formulation and application of questionnaire and observation of the educational practice of a Physical Education teacher and her two classes of children with four and five years, in addition to a semistructured interview with this teacher.We selected this teacher from her performance in the questionnaire, which showed us to be a responsible professional, knowledgeable of the legislations and demonstrated proximity to the references we present in the research. We were able to try to understand how this teacher's practice is accomplished and the coherence between her approaches and her teaching. We found grounds that led us to consider the teacher competent and coherent with her childhood visions learned during her school formation and which reaffirm the function of Physical Education and its qualified professionals in school. We point out missing elements in the practice of this teacher to improve the quality of her work and the constant need to rethink the graduations courses.
