Resumo
O presente trabalho reúne pinturas, fotografias e outros gêneros de representações artísticas de pessoas pretas na história da arte no Brasil em diferentes momentos e contextos, analisando as formas pelas quais essas pessoas foram retratadas para, a partir desta análise, perceber e propor representações positivas e promotoras do protagonismo negro - aqui indicado sob o termo “pretagonismo”, que é um termo indicativo de uma ascensão e explícito protagonismo negro, de forma que já indique seu agente central e seu atributo preto, sem omissão ou invisibilização de seus representados negros - promovendo o debate sobre os estereótipos sociais e raciais atuantes na sociedade brasileira e sobre as mudanças ocorridas neste contexto ao longo do século XX até os dias atuais. O trabalho visa, especialmente, valorizar trabalhos artísticos de pessoas pretas, buscando divulgar artistas frequentemente invisibilizados e descurados pelo meio artístico brasileiro.
Abstract
The present work brings together paintings, photographs and other genres of artistic representations of black people in the history of art in Brazil in different moments and contexts, analyzing the ways in which these people were portrayed in order, from this analysis, to perceive and propose positive representations and promoters of black protagonism - here indicated under the term "pretagonism" , which is a term indicative of an ascension and explicit black protagonism, in a way that already indicates its central agent and its black attribute, without omission or invisibilization of its black representatives - promoting the debate on the social and racial stereotypes active in Brazilian society and on the changes that occurred in this context throughout the 20th century until the present day. The work aims, especially, to encourage artistic work by black people, seeking to promote artists who are often invisible and discovered by the Brazilian artistic milieu.
