utilizando cadinho filtrante difere do resultado obtido utilizando o saco filtrante.
Abstract
The original neutral detergent fiber (NDF) analysis method takes time to analyze a large number
of samples because it requires individual labor. And with the purpose of resolving this issue,
and making the analysis more practical, alternative methods were used, among which is the use
of the autoclave in replacement of the equipment with reflux of the original method and the use
of filtering bags in place of the filtering crucible. The objective of this work is to compare the
results obtained from the analysis of neutral detergent fiber (NDF) of forage and concentrate
foods by the autoclave technique using a filter bag made of non-woven fabric (TNT), with a
weight of 100 g /m² and the use of the filter crucible. The evaluated feeds were: corn, soybean
meal, tifton hay, sorghum silage, concentrate and a total diet composed of tifton hay, sorghum
silage and concentrate for growing cattle. The NDF analysis was performed in the autoclave,
using two techniques (treatment): use of the filtering crucible, and the use of the filtering bag,
with six repetitions per treatment for each evaluated food. The experimental design used was
completely randomized with two treatments (two techniques: filtering bag and filtering
crucible) in six feeds with six replications each. The results were submitted to analysis of
variance and means compared using the F test at 5% probability, through the statistical program
R 4.4.2. The mean values of NDF in concentrate feed and tifton hay in both methods used, both
filter bag and filter crucible did not differ statistically (P>0.05). In the samples of corn, sorghum
silage and total diet, the mean NDF values using a filter crucible produced higher values
(P<0.05) than those obtained using a filter bag. For the soybean meal sample, the NDF value
with the use of the filter bag was higher (P<0.05) than the value obtained with the use of the
filter crucible. Depending on the type of food evaluated, the NDF percentage by the autoclave
method using a filtering crucible differs from the result obtained using the filtering bag.
