Análise do uso de inteligência artificial nos escritórios de contabilidade de Uberlândia

Abstract

This study analyzes the use of artificial intelligence in accounting firms located in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais, Brazil, aiming to identify the benefits, challenges, and future expectations related to its adoption. The research adopted a quantitative, exploratory, and descriptive approach through the application of a structured questionnaire to accounting professionals. The results indicate a high level of knowledge and widespread use of artificial intelligence-based tools, especially for automating routine tasks and improving operational efficiency. Positive impacts were identified regarding productivity, error reduction, and the enhancement of accounting processes. On the other hand, challenges related to technical training, the need for professional qualification, resistance to change, and concerns about data security and protection were also observed. Despite these obstacles, most professionals do not perceive artificial intelligence as a threat, but rather as a tool that supports accounting activities. Regarding future expectations, there is a consensus that artificial intelligence will become essential in accounting firms while human expertise will remain indispensable for critical analysis and decision-making. It is concluded that artificial intelligence is likely to become a strategic ally in the accounting profession, requiring accountants to develop a more analytical and multidisciplinary profile aligned with information technologies, without compromising their technical expertise. This study contributes to a better understanding of the current stage of artificial intelligence adoption in accounting firms in Uberlândia, highlighting opportunities and challenges for professionals and organizations, while providing support for future research and strategies aimed at promoting digital transformation in the accounting sector.
