Potencial geoturístico das quedas d’água do Parque Estadual da Mata do Limoeiro em Itabira/MG

Abstract

Geotourism has been growing in the last decade, and has na approach aimed at contemplating the abiotic 9rea9g9 the environment 9rea9 it can be developed, combining 9rea9g9 and visitation, with the aim of promoting geoconservation. Ipoema, District of Itabira, is a region known for its richness in natural landscapes, which are the 9rea9g9 f a base strongly structured by abiotic elements, as is the case of the existing waterfalls and their exuberance. Due to the 9rea9g attribution of the municipality to its scenic potential, and therefore, tourism, the general objective of this work was to evaluate the geotouristic potential of the waterfalls of the Parque Estadual de Mata do Limoeiro. In order to achieve the proposed objectives, a bibliographic review related to the theme was carried out, field work in the Park for recognition and characterization of the study 9rea, a fundamental step for the construction of the set of data and information to be interpreted, and consequent formulation of the results and conclusions discussed throughout this dissertation. Through the methodology employed, it was possible to point out the waterfalls and their respective potential to develop geotourism in the Park, all with their particular beauties that, more deeply, tell the story of the formation of the relief of the region and the current processes that act on it. They. All the falls are located in a Conservation Unit, which is the Park, and therefore, they are constantly monitored and given greater protection.
