Poéticas da Maternagem: Entre autoficção, performance e fragmentação

Abstract

This dissertation investigates, from a feminist and autobiographical perspective, the intersections between mothering and artistic creation. Using the metaphor of the web as a conceptual and aesthetic framework, the dissertation proposes a fragmented and unstable dramaturgy, marked by interruptions and the inseparability between care and creation. By intertwining body, memory, and language, I develop a situated artistic practice that emerges from the maternal and performative everyday. Drawing from personal and family experiences narrated through autofictional writing, video performances, and iconographic records, the investigation challenges the assumptions of patriarchal motherhood, proposing counter-narratives that recognize mothering as a political, poetic, and processual practice. Inspired by contemporary mother-artists and the contributions of feminist motherhood theorists, I seek to articulate creation and care as inseparable forces, opening pathways for other forms of existence and artistic production. This work weaves itself, like a spider, with threads of memory, ancestry, daily life, and imagination, affirming mothering as a fertile ground for dissident poetics.
